The Photographer Behind The Lens

Wildlife Photography

“To approach animals in their most natural, native settings. I have to understand the mysteries of their behaviour. With careful preparation, I can show the animal in its best light, demonstrating its beauty, strength, and intelligence “
– Paul Nicklen

Meet Hendrik

I started this journey of nature photography 15 years ago when I moved from Germany to the beautiful countryside of Canada. Originally I picked up my camera to share the wonderful wildlife and landscapes with my family and friends back home, filling my time during the winter months. From there my passion for photography grew and so has my audience. If you are wondering where I go to find these to fill my nature photography portfolio, it showcases the amazing animals of Alberta and British Columbia.

The Focus of My Lens

Bears and wolves are usually the focus of my camera lens, but I also find that birds are interesting to capture as well. If I don’t find what I am seeking, there’s always another opportunity waiting to happen, as you will see a variety of wildlife photos in my portfolio. Heading out to watch and listen to the wildlife in the silence of the Canadian wilderness is a joy in and of itself. Understanding the animals behaviour has become a pursuit that aids in locating and capturing the perfect shot.
